Are you a self-motivated, highly imaginative, hardworking, passionate writer with a love of writing romance stories? Whether they be simmering and steamy, or sweet and wholesome? If you answered yes, then we may have a place for you on the Publish Pages Romance Writing Team!

 

We are looking for professional and experienced freelance romance ghostwriters who want to keep their schedules full of fun and exciting projects so that they can write in the peace, safety, and comfort of their own home. Writers with paid experience are strongly preferred. 

 

You must be knowledgeable about the romance fiction market and be able to write with the market’s preferences. This means captivating and memorable romance fiction that provides elements of suspense, tension, believable and flowing dialogue, and compelling characters, and great character development. We expect you to be able to write professionally and self-edit your work. 

 

As this is a ghostwriting job, you must be comfortable writing on behalf of a client, and you will release all rights of the finished work to the client. You will not receive direct credit for your written work.

 

Our service rate is $15 per 1,000 words. Projects range from 10,000 to 200,000 words, giving your great earning potential.

Requirements: 

  • You must be a native English writer and speaker currently residing in Canada, The United States, Australia, The United Kingdom, or South Africa. If you are a native English speaker living abroad, feel free to apply. We expect all work submitted to be in Standard US English.
  • You must be a deadline-oriented freelancer, our clients have time-sensitive projects, and as such, you must be able to meet their strict deadlines. As such, we require our writers to have an average writing pace of 2,000 to 3,000 words per day. (Of course, you will be given adequate time to complete a project).
  • You must have a great understanding of the romance fiction niche, what romance readers want, and how to write with the market in mind. Example: Most romance readers don’t like stories that romanticize abuse, or stories with partners who cheat, etc.
  • You must only apply if you have long-term availability.
  • You must be available throughout the day to be able to respond to the project manager and any messages from the client.
  • You must be responsible, reliable, with open and honest communication, and willing to build strong relationships with our clients.

Start out by telling us a bit about yourself! (Prior occupation, interests, favorite books, favorite book protagonist and why, and favorite antagonist and why, any other fun facts about yourself that you’d like to add). 

Choose three romance subgenres you are the most comfortable and interested in ghostwriting. Then submit three 2,000 word samples of your writing for each subgenre. Please also let us know which subgenres you feel most uncomfortable or disinterested writing in, and let us know the reason why. 

 Your submissions must be in doc, docx or pdf format. Please be sure to double-check your submission and application for grammar, spelling errors, flow, etc. The sample must be your own original work, and you must still own the copyright to these works. (This means you cannot submit something ghostwritten for a client for this application).

We may request a photo ID and your resume for verification purposes. Due to the number of applications we receive daily, please allow us a least two weeks to get back to you.
